Hair by Sam McKnight London Exhibition

Somerset House in London is showcasing a major exhibition celebrating the 40-year career of master hairstylist, Sam McKnight. Featuring many of fashion's most iconic hairstyles, it unveils the little-known creative process behind the craft of hairstyling.

The exhibition traces the legacy of hairstyling from the 1970s to today through the fascinating and illustrious career of Sam McKnight and features iconic photographs, couture garments, wigs, hairpieces and audio-visual installations.

Throughout his career, Sam McKnight has worked with many of the most celebrated image-makers, collaborating with designers, photographers, stylist and make-up artist, including designer legends like Karl Lagerfeld and Dame Vivienne Westwood and photographers such as Nick Knight and Patrick Demarchelier. In doing so, he has created some of fashion most recognisable styles, such as Princess Diana's slicked-back bob, Tilda Swinton channeling David Bowie and Kate Moss' trademark 'done/undone' look. He has created over 100 Vogue UK covers and styled models, stars and musicians of the calibre of Linda Evangelista, Cara Delevigne, Cate Blanchett, Uma Thurman and Lady Gaga.

The Exhibition is open at London's Somerset House from 2 November 2016 to 12 March 2017. CLICK HERE for opening times, ticket sales, early closures and restrictions.
