The Alternative Hair Show 2018: celebrating its 36th year in a new venue!
This year the Alternative Hair Show celebrates its 36th year with a new venue at the Freemasons’ Hall in London’s Covent Garden.
With two performances, the evening will certainly be an outstanding celebration of the art and craft of global hairdressing linked closely with the generosity of the profession and generous support of the sponsors.
The beautiful image, specially created to promote this year’s show is a collaboration between Tony Rizzo and photographer Roberto Aguilar, illustrating the theme Mystique. The image cleverly portrays the quality of mystery, glamour and regal power that is Mystique.
The evening will once again include the finals of the ever-popular Visionary Award, a competition to find new stars of hairdressing. Devised by Alternative Hair Global President, Anthony Mascolo, there are 3 Visionary Award categories: cut & colour, mens’ and avante-garde. To enter, please go to: www.alternativehair.org
An established part of the evening is the presentation of the winners of the AIPP global photographic awards. Uniting 60 professional hairdressing magazines from across the world, the AIPP Awards receives hundreds of entries from across the globe.
The 36th Alternative Hair Show, Mystique, takes place at the Freemasons’ Hall on Sunday 14th October. It is an evening that is both poignant, but also filled with creativity, imagination, excitement entertainment, and love – inspired by today’s leading stars from the world of hairdressing.

Inspired by the shades of the ocean, this hair trend continues to be on top. With a thousand shade of blue (but not only), it takes inspiration from the world of fairytales and evokes the colours of nature, from the blue of the ocean to the green of marine algae, passing through pale pink a pastel violet.
