Wella Celebrates 20 Years of Business Network Live
Wella’s Business Network Live event took place at the West Midlands' beautiful Belfry Hotel & Resort, where nearly 230 delegates were welcomed to participate in some serious business motivation, entertainment and invaluable networking.
TV celebrity hairdresser and presenter, Michael Douglas, hosted the two day conference, which saw salon owners, their teams and Wella personnel gather for the commemorative occasion. The agenda included motivational and inspiring sessions with an array of speakers from a wide range of backgrounds, all with various success stories. Wella’s Director of Education and Events, Sheila Jackson, and General Manager, Coty Professional Beauty, UK & Ireland, Andrew Kelsall, opened the conference. “We’ve been through a lot of exciting changes. Coty Professional Beauty is a dedicated professional division which includes Wella, OPI and GHD. We have very exciting times ahead,” said Andrew.
Speakers on Day 1 commenced with businessman Pierre-Yves Gerbeau who is responsible for creating a £600 million property portfolio as CEO of X-Leisure. He spoke about leadership by example, inspiring your team and surviving in a competitive environment. “Leadership is about not personally climbing the ladder, but making sure the ladder hands from the right wall. Entrepreneurs don’t have a job – we have a mission,” he said. Other speakers on Day 1 included co-founder of iconic travel brand, Mr & Mrs Smith, Tamara Lohan MBE, spoke about the challenges of launching a business against the odds, and her quest to build the strongest business she possibly could. Also on-stage were 24-year-old social media entrepreneur Steven Bartlett, shared his incredible and hugely successful career story. For fashion lovers, a session from former Vogue Fashion Director Lucinda Chambers relayed some of the most iconic moments of her career, with words of wisdom for creating the perfect image and rising to the top in your chosen career. To close day one, dancing legend from dance group Diversity, Ashley Banjo, delivered an incredible speech on making the most of every opportunity, building a brand, managing people and developing individuals.
Day 2 launched with an invigorating Wellness Event where guests could experience a hand or shoulder massage and a personalised Energy Code Consultation and scalp analysis, all whilst sipping on healthy smoothies. The three Coty Professional Beauty brands: OPI, Nioxin & System Professional all had experts available to offer an introduction to the brands and express services. Memorable speakers on Day 2 included politician and life-peer William Hague, TV presenter Alexis Conran and famous free-climber, Alain Robert (aka Spiderman!).
Business Network Live’s 20th birthday celebrations most certainly marked the milestone anniversary in style. Guests left feeling utterly inspired and ready to implement their new business ideas back in the salon, with just enough momentum to keep them going until the 21st celebrations next year!
