The winner of The Mentor Award

The finals of The Mentor Award held at MCB by Beauté Sélection. Best Emerging Talent 2014 is Kevin Jacotot of the Christophe-Nicolas Biot team..

Great success in Paris for the initiative created by MCB by Beauté Sélection and EsteticaNetwork to select emerging talents worldwide. The fair stage featured the demonstrations of 8 young hairstylists selected by 4 mentors: stylists Stéphane Amaru, Christophe Nicolas-Biot, Klaus Peter Ochs, and Laura Castelli, Editor-in-Chief of EsteticaNetwork.

The youthful competitors expressed creativity, emotions, and a desire to emerge that swept up the audience in a voting session that ended with the proclamation of the winner in the Gran Salle of the fair. The award was presented to Kevin Jacotot, 25, by Christophe Gabreau, General Manager of Standing, the organizer of MCB by Beauté Sélection, which offers emerging talents the opportunity to perform on the Beauté Sélection stage in Lyons next 16-17 November.

Thanks go out to the eight finalists, who worked for weeks to transform these two hours of artist presentation into a spectacular show. Let’s get to know them better!

Laura Castelli Team
Matteo Susini, an Italian hairdresser from Pesaro, founded the “Loft Parrucchieri” brand by developing an artistic team and a cluster of salons in Central and Northern Italy, creating educational books, and developing an avant-garde approach to education. Influenced by the Anglo-Saxon school, he has held various shows for Italian brands and is a regular at Fashion Week in Milan.

Acacio Da Silva, freelance Brazilian hairdresser, and a true globetrotter: After Porto Alegre, Paris, London, and Berlin, where he learned and personalised professional secrets, today he lives and works in Barcelona: you can find his name in the pages of fashion magazines, like Vogue, Amica and I-D, and he boasts collaboration with famous photographers, who appreciate his diversified creativity and original artistic talents. Stéphane Amaru Team
Sergiusz Pawlak, Polish hairdresser and co-founder of the airhair team. After studying kinotherapy came a true passion for hairdressing. He got his training at the Vidal Sassoon and Toni&Guy academies and is now a member of the L'Oréal Professionnel H3 team and K-stylist for Kérastase.

Piotr Hull, originally from Polan and trained to be a jurist, he re-oriented his career toward hairdressing and opened his own salon in Warsaw to put his own personal vision of hairdressing into practice. His is a member of the L'Oréal Professionnel H3 group.

Christophe-Nicolas Biot Team
Kevin Compère. After earning his diploma hotel management, he chose to become a hairdresser. In 2011 he joined Christophe-Nicolas Biot’s “La maison de coiffure”, where he assists the stylist in all his artistic work. He now manages the new space called “Le bar des coloristes”.

Kevin Jacotot. A young talent from Lyons, he won he first prize as “Best Apprentice Côte d’or” in 2009 and joined the French hairdressing team the following year. Assistant trainer for Wella Professionals, after winning the French final of the Trend Vision Award in 2009, he now divides his work between the salon and creating at Intercoiffure France.

Team Klaus Peter Ochs
Jozica Lah. This young Slovenian girl works regularly for Intercoiffure Austria as a hairdresser and make-up artist, but also as a trainer. She often works in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia for different brands.

Daniella Dif. Owner of the “Palma Salon” in Copenhagen, this Danish hairdresser is totally commited to her artistic passion. Her dual training as hairdresser and make-up artist makes her a well-rounded artist. She is also a member of the Intercoiffure young talents.
